Thanet South - The general election 2015 the first day

Thanet South appears to be the most interesting parliamentary seat in the country, it has a rich biodiversity, candidates from the weird, comic, boring, environmentally friendly, inexperienced idealistic socialist wonder kid, through to ex UKIP member now Tory and the real McCoy and the plain bonkers in my opinion.

I doubt if any parliamentary contest has ever been as diverse as that, which will be taking place in Thanet, the conservatives party held the seat till this week with Laura Sandys who throughout her tenure remained competent, rational and sane, lord knows, which of these highly individualistic candidates will win,  the two main contenders appear to be Will Scobie, who as far as I can tell has never had what most of us consider a "proper job" (anything outside of politics) and probably too young to have any life experience and then there's Farage plenty work and I imagine life. Tough choice?

This general election is not as clear cut, as others have been, however it would seem most likely that the conservatives will be returned to government, one way or another, since the idea of labour holding the reins of office, would be akin to putting a alcoholic in charge  an off licence. So my money's on Farage rather than Scobie and who knows it might do Will some good, instead of churning out meaningless predictable tweets for Labour, devoid of emotion, he might develop some depth.

I'm sure it won't take the  electorate too long, to work out the implications, to this country's economic  stability and perhaps even more importantly,  the security and defence of this country, I don't doubt for a second that those who've thought about how things were back 2010, will appreciate what the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have done for the country.

This thought might be the biggest problem for Labour, Ed Miliband can stab his own brother in the back, using the power of the trade union movement to win the Labour leadership contest, then it seems that small matter of breaking apart the United Kingdom and doing a quick deal with treacherous Scottish nationalist, just so that Ed  can play prime minister for a few months, until his colleagues remove him, could be quite likely, unthinkable maybe although possible, we could see the dismantling of the country's nuclear defence, at a time, when the world is becoming more dangerous particularly with Vladimir Putin happy to standby while assassins  dispose of rivals and allows his troops to invade Ukraine and while the Islamic world are tearing down civilisation.

Here in Thanet UKIP represent a continuing concern, and as far as I can tell the average person is as disturbed as ever by the shear (or sheer)* numbers of migrants and lack of control, despite the endless attacks by establishment journalist from London.

    1. Thank you, where would I be with out educated types such as yourself Michael, another example of the dangers of reliance on word dictation.

If only I hadn't, fifty years ago, gazed out the school windows dreaming of the day when technology would take of the menial tasks such as writing.

    4. 2347 your opinions or comments rather, show a bigotry which i don't think i have, you make the assumption that just because i value this country and understand the simple concept of finite resources that somehow makes me a racist what we do know is that clearly you are a moron probably the left wing labour socialist worker type

unlike yourself i a value freedom of speech democracy and equalitywhich i'm not sure that you do although you probably think you do how, finally your blind bigotry and abusive attitudes show your political naivety

  2. So Tony you would rather have an absent MP who is just using Thanet South to get into parliament and will be leaving local issues to his ex BNP local representative or a local person who will be over 30 by the time this parliament ends? And on the age issue, over at Thanet North Roger Gale will be approaching 77 by the end of this parliament. The general public are fed up with these time serving nose in the trough politicians.

    1. And when you buy Roger Gale, you get his wife (employed as his "Parliamentary Director") for free. One of the less attractive BOGOF offers in the market place.

    2. Or Tony there's always Piers the Ukipper who's a Tunbridge Wells councillor we've never heard of...Margate on the up or sinking further?

  3. sorry i don't think i actually said what you think i said, however you seem to be fairly naive and if you suspect that an MP is going to be in the constituency 24 7 52 weeks of the year you must be barking bonkers mad.

respect to rodger gale you certainly have a point, i presume that he is in fine fettle although it still seems a big ask to expect a man of his years to do the strenuous job of an mp

this reply was used using voice dictation so therefore expect some errors not only in my opinions and thinking but in grammar and appropriate use of words

  4. Well written piece in my view Tony.

Defence and security you rightly mention and not least among the issues is the 1990 EU Resolution on member states to dismantle GLADIO (Nov 1990) which has not been complied with.

I have actually today been exchanging emails with a major Sunday newspaper journo who has been copying their Home Affairs correspondent in to the exchange. And he was involved circa 1996 in journalist response to the 1995 Desmond Tutu Commission of Inquiry into mercenaries deploying to attack Mandela regime.

At the time the UKIP member of interest to one of your contributors and a former League of Saint George member of current press interest were in fact both South Thanet Tories.

The Sunday paper is now aware of Michael Child and his associate Malcolm who may be able to inform their interests but who was successfully intimidated to silence by a member of Kent Police Authority who was also a South Thanet tory.

I have pointed out that the area has a voluble group of would be bullies who are in fact IRA supportive SWP and that their whole history is to criticise puirported right wing extremists but yet to leave the right wing IRA supportive League of Saint George out of their bile.

Hypocrites and I finish by pointing out the IRA were never much known by prosecuting their cause with some unsolicited pub lunch costumed impro.

    Good post Tony.

  5. Mercenary paedophiles subject of Tutu Commission of Inquiry 1995

Certain aspects of this history are in fact now being examined by the IPCC inquiries into Scotland Yard cover ups.

And it may be that certain stored press archives will be trawled to determine if the mercenary preparations of such mercenaries did in part or in whole occur in Thanet.

Time for ECR, Simon Moores and Michael Child to pronounce "Conspiracy theory" ?? You think ??

  6. Hurray for Rick! I for one have missed him and his IRA paedos and SA mercenaries. Makes a lot more sense than Tone who after their success in Coalition has ditched the Libdems for Ukip.

Voting Wauchope not Cunningham in Thanet North Tone?

  7. Scobie is worried about thr Sunday Times articke on the failure of Margate...as he was Mayor of Margate! And is KCC for Margate. No wonder he is standing in Ramsgate for MP!

    At least Farage lives here.

    1. without a doubt the article in the sunday times clearly upsets will scobie is slightly slanted and probably paints a shade grayer yet than Margate however his inability to accept it, shows a lack of judgement, just because Scobie doesn't take a critical view doesn't mean it's not valid

    2. This is almost incoherent Tony. Margate is not a mess? Scobie had nothing to do with it as Mayor?

  8. Scobie supports the Parkway too although he hasn't explained how that will work with no airport or any benefit to spending £20m on it. Not far off the cost of the Turner

  12. Cunningham is the Libdems Brussels representative (!). Isn't he a Euro bureaucrat like what you rail against in ukip Tony? Now he's coming over here taking our political jobs too?
